Cats Protection: Animal welfare rescue for cats and kittens

ats Protection is the UK's oldest and largest charity concentrating on felines. It has 29 shelters and 275 branches nationwide. Approximately 170,000 cats and kittens are helped every year and for every two cats in care there is another waiting to come in. Nationally we rehome 70,000 cats and kittens each year. There are 50,000 members and 90% of Cats Protection work is carried out by a team of 6,000 unpaid volunteers. The Head Office is in the process of moving to Chelwood Gate, East Grinstead in Surrey, which is the site of the new National Cat Centre.

The aims of the charity are to rescue stray and unwanted cats and kittens, rehabilitate and rehome them where possible; to encourage the neutering of all cats and kittens not required for breeding, and to inform the public how to care for cats and kittens.

We seek to carry out the aims of Cats Protection (CP) on a local basis and this involves a range of activities, which include:
