In 1993, Catherine visited a tea room near Shelter Island, New York, and fell in love with the concept. "I liked the experience, the warmth and inviting atmosphere of the room," says Catherine. "I felt at home, possibly because of my Celtic backround. The tea room brought back wonderful memories of sharing cups of tea and warm moments with my mother and father as I grew up. It was as though I had discovered the secret key that unlocked my ideas about catering."
As the years went by, Catherine was disappointed by the lack of a similar experience in Westchester, and she promised herself that one day she would open her own Tea Room. "I want to create a Tea Room that sends you to a different place when you walk through the front door," said Catherine. "The whole room, the colors, the feeling, the aromas, the music, everything should envelop you and make you feel special."
