Citizens Bank & Trust Company, the only locally-owned bank in Springhill (and Webster Parish), was founded in 1955 and has been serving the financial needs of the area since that time. The Board of Directors is committed to community banking and to providing the latest in innovative services to our customers. We introduced the convenience of ATM's, Saturday banking, and until December, 1998, provided local Internet Access Service to our community. We will continue to search for effective ways to improve our financial services and to keep up with the rapid changes in technology in order to make your banking as quick, easy, and convenient as possible.
In June, 1999, Citizens expanded it's community banking to Plain Dealing, Louisiana - a community that was accustomed to hometown banking and wanted to continue that type banking relationship. The town's only local bank had been bought out by a larger banking institution, and there was a need by the community for a return to community banking. Local residents were very supportive of Citizens decision to expand into their community.
In 2000, Citizens Bank bought the old Webster Bank building (c. 1907) in Minden , Louisiana . In December, 2001, after more than a year of renovations, restoration of the historic bank building on downtown Main Street was complete and became the permanent home to Citizens Bank.
