Description
CCSSO, through leadership, advocacy, and service, assists chief state school officers and their organizations in achieving the vision of an American education system that enables all children to succeed in school, work, and life.
Organized around leadership, advocacy, and service functions, the Council is made up of the Executive Office and four divisions: Internal Support and Operations, Leadership and Professional Development, Leadership Services, and State Services and Technical Assistance.
The Executive Office assures smooth, efficient, and responsive work across the Council. It oversees member relations, external partnerships, staff development and high-performance training, work-team support, program development, grant writing, and special projects. The Executive Office strengthens partnerships with other organizations, the U.S. Department of Education, Congress, and the administration and ensures effective advocacy on behalf of the full membership.
