The mission: The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland Foundation, guided by gospel values, raises funds, makes grants, and manages assets to foster philanthropy and advance the priorities in the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland.
Bishop Anthony M. Pilla created the faith-based Foundation in 2000 to foster philanthropy throughout the Diocese, which includes Ashland, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Summit and Wayne Counties. On behalf of the Bishop, the Foundation coordinates fundraising for schools, agencies and organizations owned and operated by the Diocese.
Under the leadership of Board Chair Donna Kelly Rego and Executive Director Tony Lang, the Foundation raised nearly $18.5 million in 2004 through the generosity of some 78,000 donors.
