John Chapple Photographer- HomePage

Description edit

Excerpted from the website description:

John Chapple is a British photojournalist based in Sydney, Australia. His byline John Chapple in the Big Apple pays homage to the decade he spent working for the British press while living in Los Angeles and New York. After nearly 10 years experience working with newspapers in England, Chapple made his American debut in celebrity at-home portraits, news and features for a top American agency, but found real success as a freelance photographer. His ability to accept assignments directly from his clients and the freedom to showcase his wide range of expertise and exceptional skills made him one of the most reputable photographers in the United States. He continues his editorial work for The Times of London, The New York Post, Daily Mirror, The Sun, Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and the Ireland on Sunday in Australia and the South Pacific, and travels continuously to the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States. In addition to his newspaper assignments, he also maintains a strong working relationship with his magazine clientele and accepts portrait, feature and travel work from Closer, Empire, Total Film, New Woman, Womans Day and Australian Womans Weekly. In addition to working regularly for papers and magazines, he makes time for his own love of photography and art, capturing images for his web site of faces and places around the world. Its rare to find John without a camera in hand. After taking on several assignments for Animal magazines, Chapple discovered the quirkiness and contagious fun of canine photography and is currently working on a book of images, commissioned by an American publisher. Chapple shoots the majority of his newspaper jobs armed with a Canon 1DS Mark II, but his beloved Leica and Hassleblad allow him to produce some of his best work. Not wanting to limit himself to photography on land, Chapple can often be found in the depths of the ocean using an underwater camera to shoot sharks, rays and deep-sea creatures.
