Up to 8 people can experience a magical one week vacation tour of the beautiful and historic Dordogne region of France. Based in a chateau dating back to the 14th century overlooking the Valley of the Dordogne river, guests will enjoy en-suite accommodation, fine wines and gourmet cuisine. This is a truly all inclusive vacation with round trip first class rail travel from Paris to start the holiday. Our representative will meet you at your Paris hotel or the airport, and take you to Austerlitz station where you will board the train to Brive la Gaillarde and experience a journey through the heart of France. You will be met by your personal guide at Brive who will transport you in air-conditioned luxury to the Chateau where you will be greeted with a champagne reception and your first candlelight dinner. All meals at the Chateau will be prepared for you by your cordon bleu trained chef, and you will enjoy fine wines from all the major wine producing regions of France with both lunch and dinner. All bar drinks are included in the price of the vacation and any snacks taken whilst out on tour. Your personal guide will discuss the itinerary with you. The Dordogne or Perigord region as it used to be known is a treasure trove of historical and prehistorical attractions. You will visit medieval castles, towns and villages and experience a traditional French town market. Caves with etchings and drawings made thousands of years ago by prehistoric man are waiting for you to discover. Visit a local vineyard and learn about the production of the good local wines. At the end of the day you can relax by the Chateau's heated swimming pool, walk the grounds or take a bike ride. We can arrange golf, horse riding, river trips or hot air ballooning if you wish. (The cost of Ballooning is not included in the price of your vacation and will need to be paid directly to the operators).
