Cheshire Brick and Slate Company (CBS) was established in 1978 by John Malcolm Youde, a former builder who had seen the need for reclaimed building materials within the United Kingdom, today the company is run jointly by Malcolm and his son Jason, and is one of the largest stockists of reclaimed building materials in the United Kingdom today, holding over 100,000 reclaimed bricks on stock.
CBS are located on the A54 (Kelsall Road) 6 miles east of Chester, on a three acres site, which also houses a 350 m2 showroom and a joinery workshop which produces all forms of bespoke joinery specialising in solid oak and pine doors.

Over the past month (June 07) the CBS website has undergone a transformation, It is now up to date with the latest product lines, including the reclaimed and reproduction brick ranges, the reproduction lantern range, the stone cobbles, flooring and walling range, the roofing range, the gravels and recycled (crushed) product ranges, the door furniture range and a range of bespoke joinery including examples of the oak and pine doors we can produce.
The website also provides the customer with information regarding the different housing styles within the United Kingdom dating from Tudor times in 1485 to more modern houses (Post War). This allows the customer to determine what sort of house they may own/looking at purchasing/renovating/redeveloping. In the fullness of time this section will provide recommended products for each type of house.
