For the past 30 years, I have been the Chess Club Advisor at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio. (This has been in addition to my full time professorship.) Being the Chess Club Advisor is a voluntary role. I have done it all these years because I know chess develops intelligence in my students, but also because I love the game. I am drawn to the excitement, fun and beauty of the game's action. Also, I appreciate the beauty of a well-made chess set.
