From the founding of the English Colony in 1607 to the winning of our freedom during the American Revolution and the great struggle of the American Civil War, Chesterfield has been in the center of the storm. The Chesterfield Heritage Alliance, a cooperative body of representatives from the historical and cultural organizations of the County strives to preserve and enhance the history and heritage that has taken place in this unique region of Virginia. Members of the alliance work together to facilitate the development of mutually beneficial programs while helping to develop and promote Chesterfield County as a tourism destination.
