Description
Excerpted from the website:
- Chicago Rare Book Center
- The Chicago Rare Book Center came into existence in 1998 as a book mall co-owned by Ann Dumler, Paul Garon, Tom Joyce, Pat Martinak and Frank Pollack. Frank Pollack left the partnership in 1999, and for the next five years, the original four partners continued to operate the mall in Chicago's Gold Coast area at 56 W Maple. In March 2005, the partners moved the bookstore to Evanston in the Main Street shopping area. In its present state, Chicago Rare Book Center focuses on the books of the four partners and no longer operates as a mall. Their concentrations include Children's Books, Modern Literature, Jazz and Blues, Art, Chicago and the Midwest, Americana, Bindings and Sets, but the store includes rare and unusual books in all subjects.
