The C. Hinds Foundation was established in memory of Cecil Hinds who was gunned down on August 24th 2001 in Rexdale.
"..After work at the Hospital for Sick Children, where he was a pharmacist, Cecil went to his old neighborhood to play basketball and then catch up with friends. It was just after midnight when three or four men ran around the corner into a group of more that a dozen people who were standing outside. Police are still looking for the men, who are believed to have killed Cecil in a spray of gunfire while he sat outside a friend's home.
