Church of God Ministries
During successive sessions in 1996 and 1997, the General Assembly initiated a restructuring of the work of the national ministries of the Church of God within the United States. This action was taken in order to streamline and enhance services to local congregation for the purpose of more effectively and efficientlyfulfilling God's mission for the movement in the 21st century. The result was the formation of Church of God Ministries, Inc.
Church of God Ministries functions under the oversight of the Ministries Council, its governing board. The Council's membership reflects a balanced representation of geographic and grassroots constituencies, it is ratified by the General Assembly and meets four times a year. The Council's chief staff officer is the general director, who is selected by the Council and ratified by the General Assembly.
Church of God Ministries is organized around three ministry teams--Congregational Ministries, Resource and Linking Ministries, and Outreach Ministries--which are each coordinated by a ministries team director under the overall leadership of the general director. The ministries team directors are all approved by the Ministries Council and ratified by the General Assembly.
