Camp Glisson is a year-round retreat and summer youth camp owned by the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church. Its purpose is to encourage young persons in spiritual growth.
In 1925 Methodist youth leaders were looking for a retreat site and found four rustic cabins on Cane Creek for rent from the Dahlonega Chamber of Commerce. After raising money to buy the land around Cane Creek Falls for a permanent camp, Rev. Fred Glisson became the first camp manager in 1930. Eventually the camp purchased Cane Creek Falls from the Georgia Power Company in 1946.
