Welcome to Cindy Valentine Designs!
Description
I became interested in hand needlework as a child. My grandmother started me with stamped cross stitch and embroidery projects, and taught me to crochet. After graduating from high school, I began experimenting with crewel embroidery as an art form, and as often happens, these interests were laid aside while raising my five children. I became interested in Hardanger embroidery in 1982 when planning my youngest child’s baptismal gown.
In 1995, I relocated with my husband to the Middle East. There I rekindled my interest in embroideries and textile arts. In 1999, I returned to the Middle East and Cindy Valentine Designs began. I have also lived in England and have traveled through Europe and China, where I get inspiration for many of my designs.
