To raise the standards of the commercial/industrial photographer, both professionally and ethically, through educational programs and publications. To provide a support network, promote the exchange of knowledge and to recognize the achievements of the professional photographer.
The Industrial Photographers of New England (IPNE) was organized in 1956 to provide conviviality and mutual exchange of knowledge. In 1991, IPNE became the Commercial Industrial Photographers of New England (CIPNE) to ensure that professional photographers working in either commercial or industrial photography would be recognized. In 1998, CIPNE incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Massachusetts.
CIPNE offers a minimum of four programs per year (March, June, September and November), plus a springtime weekend Annual Conference that includes a variety of programs and an image competition. Strong program emphasis is placed on photographic technique.
