DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATIONS
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) seeks a Director of Development and Operations to lead all aspects of development and office management for the organization.
Development responsibilities will include: (1) Manage development files, reports, donor database tracking systems, and donor communications; (2) Design and launch a recurring gift program; (3) Research foundation prospects; and (4) Assisting in writing proposal, annual report, and regular solicitation letter. Operations responsibilities will include: (1) Providing overall administrative coordination of the office including organizational financial coordination, budgets, procurement, and daily office management; (2) Bookkeeping, including processing deposits, invoices, bills, recording contributions and preparing acknowledgments; (3) Managing office, including mail distribution, office supplies, vendors, maintenance of records and organizing and maintaining files; (4) Handling all human resources details, including processing payroll, administering 401(k) plan and maintaining employee files; (5) Coordinating phones, technology, and other services; and (6) Answering phones, and responding to community requests for information.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated individual who is flexible, able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, and able to meet deadlines. Strong computer skills, including all Microsoft Office applications and QuickBooks or other accounting software required. Experience with budgets preferred. Must have at least one year of experience in development work and two years of experience in relevant professional setting. Previous work in nonprofit and/or small office environment a plus.
