CLANCY’S CAREER CONNECTION is a business that was opened in North Bay in November 2005 by well-known former broadcaster Clancy MacDonald. Clancy retired from the radio news business in February 2001 when he went to work in Ottawa as the Executive Assistant to Nipissing MP Bob Wood. Clancy worked in Ottawa until July 2004, when both the MP and Clancy retired.
Clancy became restless after a few months and started working on a plan to create his own small business. It was early in 2005 when the idea of a headhunters-type organization came to him. So after a few months of research CLANCY’S CAREER CONNECTION was launched.
Clancy says the theme behind the business is to “find jobs for people, and people for jobs”. That means two things: 1. finding businesses that are looking for employees and doing the search for them, and 2. finding people who are looking for jobs. The ideal situation would be to marry the two aspects together.
