- The council is a federation of local, regional, and national organizations representing the aspirations of three million Americans of Lebanese descent. CLAO works to further the cause of freedom and sovereignty for Lebanon commencing with the immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of all foreign occupation forces from Lebanese territory. CLAO acts to promote ties of friendship and cooperation between the United States and Lebanon based on the principles of democracy and human rights.
