- I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and am relatively new to photography. My first serious camera (and my first digital) was (and is) the Minolta Dimage 7 which I bought in 2001. It is a decent enough camera which allows a lot of control over the photos as well as having a nice (35mm equivalent) range of 28-208mm (or 7x). Most of the photos in these pages are taken with that camera. I do own the smaller but still very good Canon Powershot S50 which I normally take along for my hiking and backpacking trips since it's much easier to carry. I am still learning to take better photos especially those of people. My wife, Eugenia, is a better people photographer and some photographs displayed here are hers.
