She is our 4-year-old Chinese Shar Pei. She came into our family when she was 9 weeks old and was black as velvet, which is how we name her ‘Ele‘Ele — meaning black in Hawaiian, she’s dark chocolate now. She is the best dog we’ve ever had (although SHE doesn’t know she’s a dog) and has the run of the house and our lives. She loves going to the beach and doggie day care, and of course, is always wearing her latest designer collar with matching leash. She is such a joy along with our two cats Izzie (Isabella—our gray and white tabby) and Gabby (Gabrielle—our calico) named after two of our favorite Hawaiian music artists.
