Description

Founded by two young men, Milos Rsovac and Branko Strbac, Parada was set to become the next big thing in the Serbian community. It would provide this group with a much-needed musical element that was missing from already existing community events such as picnics, zabave and occasional concerts.

Under the name of Hit Parada, the first event was staged on Saturday December 4, 1993 at 'Kings Cross Hotel' (rooftop). 261 people attended this event, proving that the idea of a Serb nightclub was more than popular. Happy with the outcome, Parada organisers that night decided and organised a second event, to be held on the 24th of that same month. Here an even bigger outcome was achieved, with 345 people attending the event.

This was enough to convince Milos and Branko that they were on to a good thing and that Hit Parada was destined to a positive future. Stemming from this, a Serb New Year's Eve party was staged on January 13, 1994 at the now defunct 'Studerbakers' of Parramatta. Here over 750 people attended, allowing Parada to establish a name for itself.
