- My dad was the founder of Cole’s Auctions, over 50 years ago. I always wanted to be an Auctioneer, but when it really came down to it, I was too bashful. When I was in my early 20’s, dad got something in his eye – He told me I had to help him auction that Saturday because the sale was already set up. You talk about big drops of sweat on my forehead, and I was very, very nervous; but that was my start. That’s been lots of years ago.
