- The Colorado 100k Lives Campaign is an initiative to help Colorado hospitals enhance quality measures and improve patient safety. This statewide effort is part of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s (IHI) national 100k Lives Campaign, an effort to save 100,000 lives across the U.S. by June 2006, and every year thereafter, through the implementation of six interventions. These interventions include rapid response at the first sign of patient decline, making certain that patients receive the right medications at every transfer point in care, and adherence to best practices known to prevent heart attacks, infections and ventilator-associated pneumonia.
