Description
Combating Obesity was founded in 2001 by Patricia F Sadio, herself obese since childhood. She decided, after being diagnosed with Diabetes Type 2, that the time had arrived to explore and address the many issues associated with obesity.
An accountant for 15 years, Patricia is now a graduate member of the National Centre for Eating Disorders. She is a qualified person-centred counsellor and is currently researching obesity and emotions for her PhD at Huddersfield University. Patricia is also an NHS accredited tutor on the Expert Patient Programme which specialises in the self-management of long-term health conditions and sits on the Commission for Public and Patient Involvement in Health Forum (CPPIH).
