Complete Petmart was founded in 1985 by Clay & Mary Mathile, the former owners of The Iams Company, and the first prototype store was called 'Petfood Station'. After additional market research and store redesign the first 'Complete Petmart' was opened in 1987 in Centerville, OH. In 1995 Complete Petmart was sold to the current owners, Kevin Manley and Tim Rogers.
