JOHN KAEFER [born 1976; Ridgewood, NJ] has been hailed by critics and audiences for his creativity as composer of chamber, choral, and orchestral works, as well as his imaginative scores for film and television. His busy career has been highlighted by numerous awards and a growing list of important commissions and credits.
The San Francisco Classical Voice praised John's compositions as "continuously fascinating". The New Jersey Star Ledger stated that his music is "filled with craft without becoming academic, and at all times richly emotional." His recent orchestral composition MOSAIC [premiered in Carnegie Hall] was described by The New York Times as "vividly scored", by the Los Angeles Times as "steely and hard-edged", and by the Orange County Register as a "strong and entertaining" work which uses "the orchestral resources with dazzling vitality".
