Title
The Comstock House Bed and Breakfast
Description
Perched high in the hills east of Vermont's capital city of Montpelier and northeast of Barre, the granite capital of the world, sits The Comstock House. Built in 1891 by dairy farmer Charles Comstock, the gracious farmhouse has been completely renovated to house our bed and breakfast. Views abound. Camel's Hump. Lincoln Peak. Hunger Mountain. The rolling hills, open pastures, farms, barns and silos, and forested slopes of central Vermont and the Northeast Kingdom stretch to the horizon. Enjoy the scenery over a homemade breakfast or while wandering the fields and forests of our 175-acre property. Or make us your home away from home while attending one of the programs of Goddard College.
You may come just for the sunsets. Framed by the beauty of our mountains and the crispness of our air, we have a multitude of spots around the farm to sit, relax and enjoy the spectacle every evening. The sunrises are spectacular, too, if you're an early riser!
You have the choice of the Meadow Room on the first floor, a corner room surrounded by the views, with a private bath. Or try the Mountain Room on the second floor, also overlooking the scenery, which has a corner bedroom, a spacious private bathroom with clawfoot tub, and an adjoining room where you can relax or that can be used as another bedroom if you're traveling with family or friends.
