ConnetMUNC: Connetquot Model United Nations Club
Description
Model United Nations at Connetquot High School began circa 2001, under the direction of Mrs. Janice Fischer. Over the next two years, the club would undergo significant development. In the Spring of 2003, the club officially adopted the name "ConnetMUNC," an abbreviation of Connetquot Model United Nations Club, or Conference. It was also at this time that the club adopted the ConnetMUNC logo, the Thunderbird and United Nations crest.
The ConnetMUNC website began development at around this time. The primary goal of this website was to serve as a reference for Connetquot MUNers, and also for Long Island MUNers as a whole. David Scaduto, chief web architect, envisioned a multifunctional website that would transcend traditional high school club websites in functionality and appearance. Members were able to open email accounts specifically geared towards Model UN work, a first for Connetquot High School clubs.
Through the generosity of Saverio Mondelli, ConnetMUNC's first IT Consultant, the design team was able to secure www.connetmunc.org as the official domain of the website. Hosting was provided, free-of-charge, by Towardex Hosting Technologies.
