The Conservative Party is the only national UK political party that contests elections in Northern Ireland. By joining the Party here you can do everything that any member can do anywhere in the country. You will be treated no differently from members across the UK. That's because we are a Party of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Labour prefers to treat its 'members' here as second class citizens. Labour is of the view that if you are a voter in Northern Ireland you can only think like a Protestant or Catholic; Unionist or Nationalist. The normal issues that matter to every other citizen of the United Kingdom are, it would appear, of little relevance to people here - according to Labour.
We beg to differ. We believe that in order to play a full part in national politics people from Northern Ireland need to participate in national debates - rather than the same old constitutional issues. If we are part of the United Kingdom, let's take part in the mainstream political process.
