- Pictures of contrails and aviation-induced cirrus clouds, since 1995 until now. Contrails (condensation trails) are line-shaped clouds, produced by aircraft engine exhaust. They can be permanent and are often mistaken for natural clouds. Contrails and aviation-cirrus (-smog) have consequences for weather, climate change, sunlight, radiative forcing, global warming, greenhouse effect.
