The mission of the non-profit Core Knowledge Foundation is reform of preschool and K-8 public school curriculum in the United States, following the teachings of E. D. Hirsch, Jr., as outlined in such books as Cultural Literacy and The Knowledge Deficit. Core Knowledge is a content-rich, sequenced, culturally literate and scientifically proven curriculum, designed to bring educational equity to all American children, to provide a solid foundation for social and educational advancement.
