Born and bred in the Falmouth area, one can become blind to the natural beauty of one’s surroundings. Three years ago, I returned to Falmouth to visit my family. Walking the dog along the cliff path on a cool, balmy, moonlit evening, I was struck by the sheer beauty and force of nature. The contrast of my city life was so apparent. Three months later I was back here in Maenporth, working for the family business again!
Preserving the natural splendour is intrinsic with life in Cornwall. We are well aware that we must tread lightly in order to preserve our environment. We hope you will join us in our philosophy and follow the steps we have outlined in the ‘5 Steps to Being a Responsible Visitor’. As a company we realise we have a long way to go until we will be as low impact as we like, but small acorns grow to great oaks.
Cornish Holiday Cottages, founded in 1978, continues to be a family affair, the only difference being that I now own the company. We have been working hard this last year to continue to raise the standards in the properties we manage. We have a new website, with lots of pictures; so you really get a feel for each property, a more efficient booking system, an enthusiastic new member of staff, Josie, and some gorgeous new holiday homes.
