When Sony played their hand at this past E3, people couldn't help but be taken aback by the companies stance on their product. The price alone seemed to ride on the justification that the Playstation isn't just a gaming machine. Ken Kutaragi defended the price, saying that if anything, it wasn't high enough.

Sony desperately wants you to believe that the Playstation isn't a toy. That you're going home and playing Ratchet and Clank in a totally mature way, and you're so sophisticated when you're swearing up and down at a pixellated monkey on your screen. This isn't a new mindset for Sony, they started the 'cool gamer' oxymoron. Showing off celebrities playing Tekken and carrying the torch of Sega's failed "hardcore badass" style of marketing. They were the ones who told the world that video games weren't just for nerds, and put PS2 systems in rap stars cars and rock stars mansions.

As you can probably surmise, there was an utter lack of Corp staff in Los Angeles this year. It seems that life has happened to us in amusing and interesting ways. Certain of us are moving to foreign countries for the summer, getting married or spawning nooblers and the like and as such expendable income was rather hard to come by for us.
