Title

Welcome : Church of the King Ministry Center, Queensbury New York

Description

Excerpted from the website:

Church of The King was born in 1995, but our story goes back further. In 1981 our pastors, Bill & Jean Davidson, founded Church of The Nations (COTN). A previous fellowship in the area had tragically broken up. Bill & Jean came in with a heart to gather again some of the scattered sheep. A handful of people met in the basement of a house in Lake Luzerne, NY. By the summer of 1982 they offered to buy the suite of buildings owned by the previous fellowship, and the new Church had a meeting place. Fifty acres of prime Adirondack parkland was eventually donated by the previous ministry. A further sixty acres was purchased later to form the present campus. The Davidsons founded The King’s School (Pre-K through 12th Grade) in 1983. Both Church and school flourish to this day and form a wonderful family link for Church of The King. In 1986, COTN gave birth to Saratoga Abundant Life Church in Saratoga Springs, NY. Another outreach Church - Iglesia Oasis - was planted in barrio Los Olivos, Bogotá, Colombia. In 1990, First Church of Granville was planted in Granville, NY. Each of these ’plants’ involved the relocation of personnel from the original church family. In the mid 1980s the Davidsons founded a children’s home "La Esperanza" in Colombia, South America. All of these ministries continue to this day. In the early 90s, Bill & Jean handed over the pastoral leadership of COTN to life-long friends and colleagues Derek and Mary Jane Bevan , who still lead the Church today. In 1995, instead of apostolically “sending out” a church, Bill & Jean themselves led ten members of COTN to the town of Queensbury, just fifteen miles from the original Church, and Church of The King was born. Thus the unbreakable family bond between COTN and COTK was forged. Early in the new millennium, Bill joined the Coordinating Team of Alliance International Ministries, j oining team colleagues John Dean, Dan Haas and Terry King. The team gives encouragement, training and input to a number of leaders who, in turn, lead Church Families numbering thousands (recent estimates number around two million) believers throughout the world.
