Council House Exchange, Free Community Council House Exchanges

Serving exchange tenants for nearly 5 years
The website was created by myself Andrew Glover back in the year 2000. At the time I was going through a period of unemployment. I had been made redundant as a graphic designer and signwriter. It was a job I had been in for well over 10 years so it became a shock. I suddenly had lots of spare time, most of which was spent job hunting. My mind still needed more to do and I enjoyed learning on my computer. I decided I wanted to increase my design skills by moving them into web design. As a challenge I asked my Dad if he could think of a project I could donate my spare time into that could also prove beneficial to others. He suggested the site for Council House Exchanges that would cover the Country nationwide. It seemed a brilliant idea, as at that time there was nothing else like it and no solution.
October 2000, Council-Exchange began
I created my very first website and setup the forum for council exchanges and linked to it from the website. The forum was provided by an American host offering free forum space funded by adverts which they had on there. Once I had the forum I divided it into sections decided by the County areas of the U.K. It didn't take long for tenants to find us and become members.
