Once new to the country western scene, I had a difficulty finding the best places to go dancing. There was no big map or publication showing who was where. So I found them, club by club, dance by dance, posting each dance and dance hall on this website. I am grateful to the many instructors and dancers who now send the information to me to post on these pages.
The Washington and Baltimore area is rich in places for both line and couples country dancing. Following the country western craze, we still have some dedicated country western bars such as Little Texas, Cancun Cantina, and Nick's. Most of the country dances are regularly scheduled in clubs and dance halls throughout the week and the month. There is usually a place to dance every day of the week.
Capitol CountryDancin is organized by the frequency of the dance event. That is, regularly scheduled weekly events, non-weekly events, dance clubs, and competitions. Icons indicate the types of dance, e.g., line, pattern, couples country mix. This site is updated daily (with a few exceptions) and provides details and directions to our many outstanding country western clubs and events. Any comments are mine. I have no axe to grind or dance club to promote. Look around and enjoy!!!
