About County Down Crafts

County Down Crafts is an independent membership organisation formed in 1997 by Designer/Makers, with initial assistance from Down District Council, to help manage and facilitate the development of the Craft, Applied Art and Design Sector in the south east sub-region of Northern Ireland.

Membership of County Down Crafts is open to any individual or organisation with an interest in the development of Craft, Applied Art and Design. You do not have to live or work in County Down to be a member of County Down Crafts, although most of the organisation's activities take place in County Down.

Members of County Down Crafts are automatically registered with Craftmark and do not have to pay a Registration Fee. Craftmark is a cross-border economic development initiative, a partnership between County Down Crafts and Louth Craftmark funded by The EU Programme for Peace & Reconciliation, administered by Co-operation Ireland. Other funders include: Louth County Enterprise Board, The Arts Council of Northern Ireland, Down District Council & Louth County Council.
