Smith’s entrepreneurial spirit led to the creation of Companion Pet Enterprises, a company dedicated to advising and aiding others in their business endeavors. Smith will act as a personal consultant to your business, present an educational program for virtually any facet of the pet industry, or develop a seminar specifically for your staff in house.
Smith started as a veterinary technician, graduating from SUNY Delhi in 1979. After working for many years in a small animal hospital setting, she completed grooming studies from NASH Academy of Animal Arts, and helped design and oversee construction of a pet care facility housing a veterinary hospital, boarding kennel, grooming shop, crematory, and pet shipping services. She was director of the facility for 13 years.
Her diversified background relates her with the audience – she understands the people and situations encountered on a daily basis in the pet care world. Smith addresses groups ranging from the local school and library to international audiences. The need for professionalism in all aspects of the pet care industry is part of her message. Beyond animal care, Smith provides useful and down to earth information on public relations, supervisory management, business management, and time management. We don’t just work with pets.
