- a career as a singer. That life has given me excitement, travel and much more to be thankful for, and now I make my living primarily as a voice teacher. I started to crochet again in 2004 and attended a CGOA conference in Manchester, New Hampshire that summer. There I met two of the grandes dames of needlework, Jean Leinhauser and Rita Weiss, who encouraged me to sell my designs and actually bought several items “off by back.” SInce then, I’ve had designs in books by Sterling Publishing, DRG, Lark’s “Fabulous Crocheted Ponchos,” in the magazines Crochet!, Knit Simple, Cutting Edge, and Crochet Today.
