Arnhild had shelties since 1986, and first litter on breed-term, was born in 1987. She had from 1990 the prefix Sheltibo. She grew up with hunting-dogs of different kinds. Dunker, Sweitzer Støver and Finish Støver.
Charles started with Drentsche Patrijshond in 1980, and later he became a sheltiebreeder, since 1992 under the prefix Of Papa Stour. In 2005 we also imported a Drentsche Patrijshond to Norway, then the only one.
Late 2004 Janne & Kjell purchased a male-dog from Crofts , Arnhild & Charles'2nd.litter under the new prefix. His name is Nuch Croft`s Brown Sugar. He was ordered as a pet only. Kjell`s parents were dogbreeders under the affix Kjanto, and he definately did not want any showing or breeding. Janne was earlier a pet-owner in miniatures, so they were not unexperienced in dogs. They wanted just a companion at their small farm. The reality became quite different. They were very soon active in showing and breeding shelties, and became co-owners in Kennel Croft in 2008, together with Arnhild and Charles, and best friends.
Janne & Kjell have been driving hundreds of miles to shows. Arnhild & Charles have the latest 2 years been breeders and showing only a little. As Kennel Croft became Breeders Of the Year in 2008, it is them to thank for this. Together with Torkild, Wenche, Vinny & Finn Helge, also showing a lot of Croft-dogs in the ring.
In early June 2009 it was decided that Torkild & Wenche Tangen in Kristiansand, also went under the prefix Croft`s. Wenche is Kjell`s sister, and they owned the affix Kjanto. Heritated from their parents. Since they have already 2 Croft bitches, and they too became our best friends, it will be a pleasure to have them in our small gang. We wish them most welcome, together we will be strong in the future.
In 2009 the adventure continues, Croft is still on top of the list in Norway. The amount of dogs is still very small, and we are all grateful to them and to everyone contributing to the success.
New, lovely litters are on the way, some planned and some born already.
7-8 th generation from the beginning see daylight these days, and strong bitchlines are the most important tool in our breeding.
Our challenge in the future will be to keep up the good, winning Croft-type that is set. We will all work hard for it.
