- T he Crown was tenanted successfully for fifteen years by two landlords, one being a local farmer. In that time The Crown Inn was one of only two inns which continued to exist in the village. The Crown then changed hands very quickly; three times in three years. Pub life not being as easy as people first imagine, the pub deteriorated structurally and the trade became virtually non existent.There was a real worry about it's future.
