- Originally, TAB Queensland was established as a government authority to conduct legalised off-course totalisator betting in Queensland.� On 15 November 1999 the Queensland government sold its entire interest in TAB Queensland by a public float with ownership passing to individual and institutional investors. On December 2nd 2002, TAB Queensland changed its name to UNiTAB Limited.� UNiTAB shares trade on the Australian Stock Exchange under the code "UTB".
