For more than 25 years, CRYSTAR Components has been a top supplier of silicon carbide (SiC) components to the semiconductor industry. CRYSTAR invented the use of siliconized silicon carbide material for the manufacture of semiconductor devices, and directs every step of the manufacturing process. CRYSTAR products can be used to process silicon wafers from 6 inches to 12 inches in diameter, along with many specialty applications. CRYSTAR is able to CVD coat all components to provide high purity in any application. CRYSTAR is an approved supplier to all major furnace OEM's.

CRYSTAR Components' customer base includes the largest and most technically advanced manufacturers in the industry. Products are supplied to all market segments including memory, logic, device foundries and silicon wafer producers.

In 1990, Compagnie de Saint-Gobain acquired CRYSTAR Components (formerly Norton Electronics) along with other Norton businesses. Operating under the direction of Saint-Gobain Ceramics & Plastics, Inc., CRYSTAR works in conjunction with other businesses in the Saint-Gobain Semiconductor Components Group to produce high-performance materials and components for fab material, cleaning and servicing needs.
