Title

CSS Reboot Spring 2006

Description

About the Reboot

The CSS Reboot is a community event for web professionals. May 1st, 2006 at 18:00 GMT Rebooters from all over the world will launch their web standards-based redesigns simultaneously, bringing traffic, interest and a little respect to their sites. There are no prizes or arbitrary winners, just great exposure and the knowledge that we all participated in something great.

A Little History

The initial inspiration for the CSS Reboot came first and foremost from the May 1st Reboot, an idea and event initially conceived by James Widegren in 2000 that is now directed by Paul A. Szypula. The May 1st Reboot is a great event that the CSS Reboot owes a lot to, but in 2005 I couldn’t help but notice that a lot of the designs were heavily Flash oriented. Since web standards-focused designers often don’t design in Flash — myself included — I thought an alternative event could be a good idea.

Yeah, yeah, I know we’re all busy but come on we’ve got almost 2 whole months! I’m participating — want to join me? Better yet, want to join me and help spread the word on this new era of the May 1st Reboot? Redesign your site with CSS and web standards in mind and show the entire world all at once just how great accessible, standards design can really be.
