Description
- Established in 2004, and together with its sister site csvhome.net, CSVHome makes up probably the largest downloadable CSV library on the net.
CSVs are used by scan collectors the world over to collate and validate their scanned image collections - Collections of images made by scanners (unpaid photo-art professionals) or issued by web sites who specialize in image publishing, principally photoshoot sites like Domai, DOT, Met-Art, Galitsin, etc.
The collating and validating is processed using specialist software (PicCheck, Hunter and ScanSort probably being the three most popular) which reads in the data contained within the CSVs and compares that to the images it is checking, using filename, file size, CRC ad other data to verify that each file belongs to a particular collection, and that it has not been altered in some way.
CSV Home now hosts over 25000 such CSV files, all available for free download, and categorized into sections covering Photoshoots, #WSC (Web Site Channel), scan channels (SnF, CSA, SDC, WWSA, RSCC, ISC, GSC), CyberClub, individual scanners, and many more.
