It all started some 43 years ago by our founder Louis Lincoln Feeney, my grandfather, who passed away in 1991. He was 86. He was the kindest man I have ever known. Not only was he a good person he was brilliant. He was a Mechanical engineer that worked on a team that designed and pioneered refrigeration along with air conditioning. He also was a scientific writer and researcher and has written books on topics such as the study of the plant seed, germ life, cell functions, "The Cybernetics of Living things.
CTC Company actually started as company called Therapeutic Vacuum Systems. It was marketed as a therapeutic device to avoid any problems with any apposes of sexually oriented products in the 1960s the climate was not right for that kind of a product.
Our first pump system was a manual pump. It was entirely constructed of steel and aluminum. It was too heavy and too costly to produce on a large scale. It was dropped when CTC was formed in 1969. At that time the introduction of an all new Studmaker Manual pump system was released. It was the same design as the first but it was injected molded out of a high impact plastic. A chrome metal tube, 1/4" drive rod and a rubber piston cup made up the pump.
