Cybersquatting

Cybersquatting is a form of dispute on the internet. Usually it involves someone not renewing their lease and the name getting "snatched" up by someone who simply wants to monetize the traffic or sell it back to the previous owner at a steep price.
It may also involve the purchase of a domain name for the express purpose of profiting off of someone else's product or trademark by use of derivatives or deliberate typographical mistakes in the name. Such sites usually have no real content, and exist solely to capitalize on the real owner's need for the name.
