Founded in 1998 by John Baird, DCM Money Solutions is a UK based independent Debt Management company.
A network of money counsellors visit potential clients at home (a service that is free) to discuss their situation in a more comfortable and familiar environment.
All money counsellors are trained to start with a blank sheet of paper and build a solution from the problem rather than try and make the problem fit a solution.

This is an informal agreement between you and your creditors with the aim of reducing your monthly payments to a manageable amount. At a later point in time (at DCM we strive to achieve this point within 5 years) DCM try to negotiate a full and final settlement of the debt.

edit Bankruptcy
This is where all your debts are all wiped out but at a cost. You are publicly declared unfit to manage your own money for a period of up to 1 year (longer for certain types of bankruptcy reasons). You could lose you house, car, bank and even job if not handled properly.

Individual Voluntary Arrangement is a more formal arrangement between you and creditors. 75% of creditors must agree (% based on debt amount owed) on it. Can wipe out 50% of debts but your position is reviewed after 5 years where you could be forced to sell your house or pay more. Not suitable for the majority of people.

If your credit rating is good then a loan to combine multiple debts over a longer period of time is often a good way to improve finances.
