New York City Nightlife Czar joins forces with gay internet company to ANNOUNCE the LAUNCH OF DLIST.COM, A NEW ONLINE COMMUNITY THAT TURNS MYSPACE TO GUYSPACE

September 6, 2006, New York, NY ─ At this afternoon’s press conference to officially introduce DList.com to media, Todd Sowers, CEO of DList, heralded a new era when he joined forces with NYC Club Promoter/Producer Daniel Nardicio (“The Willy Wonka of Queer New York”) to create DList.com a “Myspace tailored specifically for gay men.”

Not just any gay man, however. DList is abounding with the new gay; men in their early twenties to thirties, who may live outside the gay ghetto, count straight men among their friends, eschew tribal dance music to more eclectic tastes, and though proud and not afraid to flaunt their queerness, do not care to be classified as gay. Gay is just one facet of their rockin’ personality. Horny meets Hi Tech “The Chelsea and West Hollywood clones of the 80s and 90s are done,” declared DList.com party promoter Daniel Nardicio, who joined with Sowers in early 2006 to respond to the lack of a gay targeted Myspace-like social networking site for the alternative guy “Dlisters are guys do not subscribe to the ideology that men must only have muscles to be sexy. They are confident in their own bodies and are not trying to mimic straight men.”

The new generation of gay men may not be as political as those before them, but they are more socially integrated. “They mix with the straight community and demand to be accepted as equals,” continued Nardicio

Owned and operated by gay men for gay men, DList is the first online community to embrace the new breed of YGM.

In the tradition of myspace.com, DList members build their own personal pages and invite other members to become their friends. Where DList surpasses Myspace is in its appearance (richer), technology (faster), and user-friendliness. Members say it’s much easier to build personal pages on DList. Plus there is the added advantage that you can put up sexy pics of yourself in the “private pics” area, which you cannot do on Myspace, which gives you the option to hook up if you want to.

DList also features unique blogs handpicked by DList staff. Among the most popular are the Jackie Beat and DudeTube blogs. In addition, the site includes music, videos, and information on Dlist an other parties which are thrown by Nardicio. Who is well known in NYC for his over the top, dirty fun pre-guliani vibe. So far, the scandalous DList parties have been held in New York City however, they will begin touring nationwide this fall.

13,000 gay men already subscribe to DList.com. 1,500 new members are added each week. Membership, at least for now, is free and open to anyone 18 years of age and older (members must be 21 to attend a DList event). To ensure safety from internet predators, DList.com regularly flags and removes underage, fake, and questionable profiles.

“Most of our growth to this point has been from positive word of mouth,” said Sowers. “An aggressive marketing and public relations plan is set for this fall.”

DList.com recently scaled its technology to be able to handle 100,000 members to accommodate the forecasted growth by mid 2007.

DList.com is also advertising using ads on MySpace.com network.
